If you would like to assign your RSS feed to a subject category, click on the Subject Associations tab and select the subject(s) to assign.

(Don't worry: you can always reorder it later.)

Use the Position option to choose where the new asset should be inserted in the box.

When enabled, LibGuides will automatically prepend your proxy URL to the URL for each RSS feed post.

In the Proxy Options settings, select whether or not a proxy is required to view the feed and/or its posts.

When a user clicks it, a popover will appear displaying the description.

Display beneath item title: this will display the full text of the description on the page, right below the title.

(Note: some feed providers may display full article content in their feeds, while others only display excerpts.)

To customize how the description of each post appears on the page, choose your preference from the Description Display options.

To limit the number of posts that will display at once, enter a number in the # Items to Display field.

Enter the full URL to the RSS feed in the Feed URL field.

This is how the feed will be identified in your assets library.

Give your feed a name in the Name field.

Select RSS Feed from the dropdown menu.

While editing your guide, click on the Add / Reorder button at the bottom of the box where you want add this.

To create a brand new RSS feed asset from scratch and add it to your guide:

Once you've created your widget, you can add it to your guide using a Media/Widget asset.

These widgets will allow you to choose how many posts to display, choose how much content to display for each post, and even filter posts by subject or user account.

Displaying feeds from your LibGuides blogs: Although your LibGuides blogs do have RSS feeds, we recommend using a Blogs widget instead of an RSS feed asset to display recent blog posts.
